Craftsmanship and Governmentality: Rubens Lecture

On 28 October, Bert De Munck will give the 2021 P.P. Rubens Lecture at the Berkeley Institute of European Studies. He will talk about Craftsmanship and Governmentality: the Value of Artisanal Skills in the Renaissance and the Modern City. This lecture proceeds from the observation that there is a connection between how the city is imagined and how certain talents and skills are valued.

Launch KU Leuven Urban Studies Institute: LUSI

The new KU Leuven Urban Studies Institute, LUSI, will have a public launch on 20 January 2022 with a lecture focusing on COVID-19. In this lecture, Prof. Colin McFarlane (Durham University) will draw on his ongoing research into urban densities to reflect on COVID-19 and the politics of urban value.
