Join FRONTIER's stakeholder webinar

On 17 January, the Horizon Europe project FRONTIER will host a free online webinar in which it will share the solutions and innovations that will be developed in the project, focused on building the next generation network and traffic management for future mobility, based on the internet of things (IoT) and the artificial intelligence (AI). Participants are expected to share their insights, concerns and suggestions in an interactive session at the end of the webinar.

PhD defense: Sustainable maritime supply chain

On 25 January 2022 at 4pm, Majid Mohseni will defend his PhD thesis on the topic of 'Sustainability of maritime supply chain; economic analysis to comply with environmental regulations and social issues', under supervision by Thierry Vanelslander and Edwin van Hassel. The session will be held hybrid, and is open to all, upon registration.

Submit to special issue Maritime Econ & Logistics

Thierry Vanelslander, together with Tom O'Brien and Chen Yang, will run a special issue at Palgrave's Maritime Economics & Logistics journal. This special issue is particularly interested in papers evaluating COVID-19’s impact on the logistics industry, including supply chain management, inland operations, ocean shipping; and identifying and understanding long-term changes caused by the epidemic in the logistics industry.

New TPR PhD: Eleni Moschouli

On 24 November 2021, Eleni Moschouli successfully defended her PhD thesis on the topic of 'Transport infrastructure decision-making: an instrument to identify the combinations of conditions under which project objectives can be achieved', under supervision by Thierry Vanelslander.

Smart Transportation Alliance Conference proceeds

On 25 November, the Smart Transportation Alliance hosted its online Annual Conference, on the topic of 'Decarbonising transportation infrastructures'. Thierry Vanelslander was one of the presenters. The presentations and recording of the entire conference are available now for download.

1st alumni event Master Maritime and Air Transport

On 10 December, C-MAT's Master of Maritime and Air Transport Management held its first alumni event, in an online setting. Two opening speeches were given on current disruptions in maritime and air supply chains, followed by four alumni testimonials and an open discussion.

Rewind DLF webinar Rhine traffic forecast

On 6 December, TPR broadcasted its webinar on Rhine traffic forecast, featuring results from the Dennie Lockefeer Chair work and a subsequent debate with industry actors. The recording is available online free of charge.

Daniela Tocchi was awarded with the best PhD thesis award of the Civil Engineering Department at 'Theoretical improvements in modelling worldwide container networks'.
