The Port and Maritime Sector: Key Developments and Challenges - 5-7 May 2021 - online

 
Three-day international conference on the latest developments in maritime shipping and ports, targeting business practitioners, policy makers and scientists from around the world, hosted by:
  • The Special Interest Group A2 (Ports and Maritime) of the World Conference on Transport Research Society (WCTRS)
  • Department of Transport and Regional Economics, University of Antwerp, Belgium

The conference runs over three days of presentations and discussion sessions in an international program, from a selection of global abstracts submitted earlier. Sessions will feature among others following topics:
  • Maritime trade and forecasting
  • Shipping markets
  • Ship emissions and solutions
  • Port energy issues
  • Maritime and port digitalization and big data use
  • Port and maritime security
  • Maritime and port innovation
  • Hinterland transport solutions, bundling and synchromodality
  • Cruise business
  • Terminal operations
  • Port capacity investments

130 contributions will be presented in a series of parallel tracks.

Special sessions will deal with the future of jobs in ports and maritime, and with sustainability. A round table workshop will enable you to get in touch with representatives of the ports of Abu Dhabi, Australia, Antwerp, Ghana, Hamburg, Israel, Panama, Rotterdam, Seattle/Tacoma and Vancouver. They will each interact with you on a specific key issue in ports.

The conference participation fee is deliberately kept low (€150).
