In maart mochten de nieuwe teamleden (die in de wagen passen) voor het eerst met een zonnewagen rijden! Het doel van deze eerste pilotentraining is gewenning aan het rijden met een zonnewagen. Door middel van een hele reeks trainingen, kunnen we beslissen welke piloten met de BluePoint zullen rijden tijdens de race in Zuid-Afrika.
In March the new team members (who fit in the car) were allowed to drive a solar car for the first time! The goal of this first pilot training is getting used to driving a solar car. Through a whole series of training sessions, we can decide which pilots will drive the BluePoint during the race in South Africa.

Emiel is één van de mogelijke piloten. "Ik vond het echt plezant om met de zonnewagen te rijden. Het gekste is dat je rechts zit in plaats van links. Doordat de wagen niet zo comfortabel is, lijkt het alsof alles 2 keer zo snel gaat dan werkelijk." zegt Emiel na zijn testrit.
Emiel is one of the possible pilots. "I really enjoyed driving the solar car. The craziest thing is that you sit on the right instead of the left. Because the car isn't very comfortable, it seems like everything goes twice as fast as it really does," says Emiel after his test drive.

WE ARE WORKING FROM HOME!

Maart is voor iedereen een hectische maand geweest, ook voor ons. Hoe graag we ook aan de BluePoint willen werken, gezondheid gaat steeds voor! Daarom werken wij, net als vele mensen op dit moment, van thuis. We zijn volop bezig met het bepalen van de impact van de uitbraak van het nieuwe coronavirus op onze planning. Aangezien we voor een deel van de projecten nog in de ontwerpfase zitten, kunnen we nog even verder en blijft de impact momenteel beperkt. We kregen ook bevestiging van de organisatie van de 2020 Sasol Solar Challenge dat ze extra maatregelen nemen en ons op de hoogte houden van de situatie.
March has been a hectic month for everyone, including us. No matter how much we want to work on the BluePoint, health always comes first! That is why we, like many people at the moment, work from home. We are busy determining the impact of the new coronavirus outbreak on our planning. Since we are still in the design phase for some of the projects, we can keep working and the impact is currently limited. We also received confirmation from the organisation of the 2020 Sasol Solar Challenge that they are taking extra measures and keeping us informed of the situation.

Vorige week maakten we de grote verhuis van al het nodige materiaal om thuis verder te kunnen werken. Gelukkig geraakte alles er net in onze bestelwagen van Mols Huurwagens!

Het hele team was aanwezig om zijn bureau leeg te maken en alle boeken, notities, laptops en schermen mee naar huis te nemen! Scrums zullen nu via videochat gebeuren.

Begin maart vond de tweede editie van de Pitch Bootcamp in BluePoint Brussels plaats. De Pitch Bootcamp maakt onderdeel uit van de Solar Olympics die wij jaarlijks organiseren. Met de wedstrijd, willen we technologie en wetenschap promoten bij jongeren. Tijdens de Pitch Bootcamp leerden de jongeren hoe te pitchen, hoe een project te plannen en ontdekten ze de geheimen van de BluePoint.
The second edition of the Pitch Bootcamp took place in the beginning of March at BluePoint Brussels. The Pitch Bootcamp is part of the Solar Olympics that we organize every year. With the competition, we want to promote technology and science to young people. During the Pitch Bootcamp the youngsters learned how to pitch, how to plan a project and discovered the secrets of the BluePoint.

(2) Tijdens één van de sessies leerden deelnemers wat een pitch is en oefenden ze om hun eigen product te pitchen. (3)&(4) Een andere sessie was een feedbackmoment waarop de teams hun vooruitgang konden tonen en eventuele problemen op te lossen.
